i am running KDE 4.4RC2 - Do you get the KDE Crash Handler dialog ? Regards Same here with KDE 4.4RC2, no crash dialog, but plasma recovers by itself. - Did you experience another Plasma crash before this one ? Regards I get one every time i resume from sleep, its not instant but 2 or 3 seconds after desktop comes up. Just try this: - Run Konsole - Execute "kquitap plasma-desktop", Plasma will be closed - Wait 10 seconds - Execute "plasma-desktop", Plasma will restart - Repeat the situation that causes the crash Check if you can get the crash handler dialog. plasma restarts by itself after killing it. Weird, that shouldn't happen with "kquitapp". Try this, replace "kquitapp plasma-desktop" with "killall plasma-desktop" Ok, i got some useable output with killall. After resume it seems that the weather plasma applet crashed plasma, removing it solves plasma crash on resume. Here is relevant part of plasma output, seems like it does not like that it resumes with no internet: plasma-desktop(11484)/plasma WeatherEngine::dataUpdated: dataUpdated() plasma-desktop(11484)/libplasma Plasma::FrameSvg::resizeFrame: Invalid size QSizeF(127, 0) QGraphicsLinearLayout::removeAt: invalid index 1 plasma-desktop(11484)/plasma WeatherEngine::networkStatusChanged: networkStatusChanged(): Status changed: false state: 1 plasma-desktop(11484)/plasma WeatherEngine::networkStatusChanged: networkStatusChanged(): Status changed: true state: 0 plasma-desktop(11484)/plasma WeatherEngine::triggerReset: triggerReset() plasma-desktop(11484)/plasma EnvCanadaIon::getXMLSetup: getXMLSetup() plasma-desktop(11484)/kio (KIOJob) KIO::SlaveInterface::dispatch: error 123 "dd.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca: Network unreachable" plasma-desktop(11484)/plasma EnvCanadaIon::readXMLSetup: readXMLSetup() plasma-desktop(11484)/plasma WeatherEngine::networkStatusChanged: networkStatusChanged(): Status changed: false state: 3 plasma-desktop(11484)/kio (Slave) KIO::Slave::createSlave: createSlave "trash" for KUrl("trash:/") plasma-desktop(11484)/kio (KIOConnection) KIO::ConnectionServer::listenForRemote: Listening on "local:/tmp/ksocket-sascha/plasma-desktopF11484.slave-socket" plasma-desktop(11484)/plasma WeatherEngine::networkStatusChanged: networkStatusChanged(): Status changed: true state: 4 plasma-desktop(11484)/plasma WeatherEngine::triggerReset: triggerReset() KCrash: Application 'plasma-desktop' crashing... sock_file=/home/sascha/.kdemod4/socket-chakra-laptop/kdeinit4__0 QDBusObjectPath: invalid path "" So, may be this is related to bug 219036 (some other users experienced that crash on resume) could very well be. i do have the weather applet running. I will remove it and get back to you all.... that was it for me. No weather applet, no crash :) you guys rock! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 219036 *** |
