What I was doing when the application crashed:
I added a torrent to KTorrent for download, via the "add torrent by URL" option. Immediately after I was done adding the torrent, KTorrent crashed. 

The torrent was added correctly, though, and upon a restart of KTorrent the torrent began downloading fine. 

Note that I have recently copied my KTorrent configuration files (~/.kde/share/apps/ktorrent/*) over from my Kubuntu Linux to my Fedora Linux. This might conceivably have caused problems.
