kdm should display an user list.
Recent versions of KDM don't display any user list.

This is not a bug, as far as I can see.

There's an option "Show list" in the "Users" tab of the "Login Manager" System Settings module (under "Advanced").

Is this checked on your installation?

Also, this _may_ be related to the used theme - or if a theme is being used at all.

neither the ethais nor the oxygen-air theme provide a user list. not kdm's fault per se.

any suggestions for themes supporting user lists? 

might not be a bad idea to include one

So? Are we going to get user list in this century?

This is up to the theme now, and the default Breeze theme does indeed show a user list.
