This is for laptop/notebook users of KDE. If notebook users want their batteries to live long, they should try to keep the battery charge always between 20% and 80%. Sometimes, when I charge my battery, I forget looking on the widget all the time and the battery gets charged to 100% :-( - which is not very healthy for the battery.
I would like to see a feature of the KDE energy system/plasma widget to inform the user when the battery has reached a certain charge level. Please add something in the settings, where the user can specify the percentage where the user is notified.
Thanks!

Notifications (such as low battery) are handled by powerdevil. Reassigning.

Tbh, I (personally) don't like the idea of this being on by default, however I have no problem with it existing as a notification to turn on.
Comment 2 Kai Uwe Broulik 2012-10-01 17:20:13 UTC
I added a new notification that gets triggered when the battery is charged 100%.
I am planning to make the percentage configurable (like you can with the warning/critical threshold)

The common accordance was that adding yet another config option there will not happen. The battery charged notification will do the job in a much nicer way.

Reassigning the bug to Kai and setting it as confirmed.

This bug is reported on libsolid which is the kdelibs4 version of the solid library. It is now in maintenance mode. If you think it should still be fixed in the KDE Frameworks 5 version of solid please move it to or report a bug on frameworks-solid or Powerdevil.
