Description pugorg 2010-01-19 23:10:38 UTC
Version: 4.3 (using 4.3.4 (KDE 4.3.4), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.30-2-amd64

Allow to save all "internal" contact fields known to be saved using e.g. local resources to LDAP. Same goes for exporting to LDIF.
Eventually it is necessary to create a schema extension or to reuse one from other projects like Evolution, which has one.
Knowing a project supported schema extension is better, at least provide attribute mapping for all "internal" fields to allow for a user's self extended LDAP-schema.

Yes, this would be a big improvement to kde's addressbook.

The fields I'm particularly missing are postalAddress, homePostalAdress (both part of the inetOrgPerson object) and to a lesser extent otherPostalAddress (part of evolutionPerson).

These fields store addresses with newlines replaced with $ signs. They map rather easily to the addresses in kaddressbook.
