Description Y 2010-01-19 16:31:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I'm using a fresh Kubuntu 9.10 AMD64 install with all updates as of today (2010-Jan-19). I've installed OpenOffice and Firefox and I set the Default Web Browser to Firefox in the System Settings. When I click on an URL link from a spreadsheet cell, it starts Konqueror, not Firefox. OpenOffice freezes until I close Konqueror and then reports an error "OpenOffice.org could not find a web browser on your system. Please check your Desktop Preferences or install a web browser (for example, Mozilla) in the default location requested during the browser installation".

I shall add: the URL link I type on is something like

http://www.realtor.ca/propertyDetails.aspx?propertyId=8970599

and not your typical .html URL

Is this still an issue in KDE 4.7 or higher ?

I failed to reproduce this problem using KDE SC 4.8 beta1. Firefox is opened as expected.
