Description H.H. 2010-01-18 08:40:54 UTC
Version: 4.4 rc1 (using 4.3.90 (KDE 4.3.90 (KDE 4.4 RC1)) "release 210", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.2)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop

If I create a group, it is emptied (all contacts removed) after a few minutes (I don't know how this is triggered: by time or by other changes I make to the addressbook). Also groups seem not to be recognized correctly from kmail (reported another bug, but it may be related, even when they are not recognized, when the group is still filled)

Hej,

please make sure that your setup is correctly, that means:
  - Nepomuk is running with Virtuoso backend
  - Nepomuk is running
  - KAddressBook uses the 'Personal Contact' resource and
not any vCard file resource or compatibility bridge resource

Ciao,
Tobias

Thanks, I will try. But it is not good, when the other possibilities are not working, when they are configurable in systemsettings (it is possible to switch nepomuk off, and I have selected a vcard as a ressource I think). Then such settings should not be possible. this should be fixed for 4.4.0 before much more people will have problems with this. I will report if I get my problems fixed with your solution.

Hej,

just backported a fix that disables the 'Create Contact Group' action
if the currently selected collection doesn't support to store contact
groups. Thanks for pointing out this issue explicitly!

KAddressBook is the first application that is ported to Akonadi, so the
migration path might be a bit rough :}

Ciao,
Tobias

That was quick :-)

I think it works now..quite confusing these ressources and folder settings everywhere. I hoped that solving this problem would perhaps also solve my kmail Bug 223034, but it seems not. May it also be kaddressbook related?
