Description Stephan Kleine 2010-01-16 23:59:30 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

Please add support to KDE to store IMAP resources (e.g. address book, calendar, ...) in an encrypted format.

Reasoning is that this probably doesn't matter if I use my personal or company mail server but it certainly would be really nice to have in case one uses a public mail service like e.g. Gmail for increased privacy protection.

Nowadays full-disk encryption is de facto a standard, so we will not implement this for Akonadi only.

If this is still a concern, there are various existing solution how to encrypt only specific folders.
