Yes, it takes a *really* long time. I can open both KOrganizer, KNotes and KMail in less than half the time.

This slow start up can either be caused by KMail, which wrote its config file several time on start up, or by the synchronous search in the summary page view.
Both bugs have been fixed in SVN trunk, so please try whether it is still slow for you and reopen the bug in this case.

It is corrected now.

Kontact launches in less than 15 seconds now.
