A nice feature of KDE 3.5 was that the desktop background could have two different colors, combined by a gradient.  I would like to see the same thing in KDE 4, along with the other desktop effects that were available in 3.5. If 3.5 could do it, 4 should be able to do it also.

This would help quite a bit in responding to complaints of the form "I could do it easily in 3.5, so why can't I do it easily in 4?"
