Hi,

While spell checking a moderately lengthy document (with lots of markup I have to ignore), it occurred to me just how cumbersome the current interface for the spell check is. In particular, the context line is too small (and looking behind the spell check window is made difficult or annoying when some window effects are enabled).

It occurred to me that the find/replace dialog used to be have similar problems of getting in the way, but this was solved by changing the interface to a horizontal panel on the bottom of the page view. I think it would be an improvement to the usability of the spell checker if it used a similar interface. (Perhaps it would be vertical, to suit the suggestions list, but I think even horizontal would be a significant improvement on the current interface.)

Surely I'm not the first person to think of this. :-)

Peace,
Brendon

There is a review request that implements this wish. It is discussed here:
