Additional note: I just upgraded from Jaunty to Karmic. In the process I had to pin some of the kdepim-stuff to "karmic" instead of "karmic3", otherwise they would conflict with everythign KDE-related, and Kontact/Kmail would not install at all. Thought that may be related... Btw. that these kdepim-packages upgraded to "karmic3" messed up the whole upgrade process... should I file a separate bug-report for that? It was pretty annoying, because I could not even log-in to KDE at first. Just to clarify: this bug occurred only after I upgraded from Jaunty to Karmic. Before (in Jaunty) everything was fine. Kmail version is 1.12.4 When I start from the terminal and it crashes I get this output: *** KMail got signal 11 (Crashing) KCrash: Application 'kmail' crashing... sock_file=/home/me/.kde/socket-erlkoenig/kdeinit4__0 (my user is "me" and "erlkoenig" is the computer name) I'm running KDE 4.3.4 (kubuntu 9.10) This only happens on my laptop, my PC has almost the same configuration but everything works fine. A difference between the two computers might be related to the Akonadi-package: everytime I log into my PC I get a warning that not all components of the Akonadi-server could be started... I'm not exactly sure what this mean... but everything works fine from that onward... I do not get this warning on my laptop. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 221753 *** |
