Description Beat Wolf 2010-01-05 18:06:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

When i set for my home wlan the setting automatic (DHCP) adress only, the setting i use for the DNS is ignored and i have to edit /etc/resolv.conf manualy to set the DNS server. when i reconnect to the network, i have to edit resolv.conf again.

It would be really nice to have a easy setting to change the DNS server, perhaps even globaly. Today with net censorship, surveilance etc, a global DNS setting would be nice, perhaps already populated (not activated) with a few free DNS servers like opendns or google (that last part is really optional and if wished i create a separate wishlist item).

filled a separate wish for the second part of the report:

welcome

similar, but not exactly the same:

cannot set DIAL up or ppp oe static DNS....

it can be solved, If U stop the kde network applet and switch to gnome...but is is not very nice.
