Hello everyone, I'd like to report a problem that I have had all the way since KDE3.5 and just recently figured out a workaround for.

The situation is as follows:

Since I have switched to citadel as an IMAP server ( using IMAP over ssl ) I have been seeing the messages in the preview pane "unrendered". I have attached a screenshot of an unrendered email. As for emails with attachments, they sometimes don't even show anything at all in the preview pane.
However, when I hit 'v', the source window pops up and everything gets rendered fine all of a sudden. Same effect happens, when looking at the email in a separate window.

A couple of days ago I have found out, that unchecking the "load attachments on demand" button in my email settings fixes the problem entirely.

I'm not sure if this is reproducible with another imap server, if anyone would like to take a look at the problem, I would be more than happy to create an account on my server. As for an configuration problem on my citadel server, it is the second one I have set up from scratch with the problem persisting + everything works fine in thunderbird.

Thanks in advance

Christoph

I can confirm this same behaviour happens using Courier IMAP server. The 'v' key and opening-message-in-another-window workarounds worked both. Disabling the "load attachments on demand" "fixed" the issue.

I encountered this while setting up from scratch my KMail accounts. Hope a bugfix is released soon

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
