Version: (using 4.3.85 (KDE 4.3.85 (KDE 4.4 Beta2)), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.31-17-generic

It is good that mounting of removable devices can be configured better now. What I am missing is naming of the devices. The names the system gives are often too long and it is difficult indentify different devices. Therefore it would be really good, if it would be possible to give an aliasname to devices/partitions. This name then should be used everywhere, e.g. in the places toolbar.

Doing this from System Settings is probably not ideal. KDE Partition Manager lets you set labels on volumes, and soon Dolphin will too. Those are much more common places for people to interact with removable disks, so I think those are sufficient. And with no duplicate reports, patches, or developer interest in 14 years, I think it's safe to say this won't end up happening, sorry. :)
