This could be related to the glibc bug : bug 196207. Check this: - Quit KGet - Start Konsole - Type "export QT_NO_GLIB=1" + Enter - Type "export MALLOC_CHECK_=" + Enter - Type "kget" + Enter - Use KGet and check if it crashes or not If it doesn't crash, then it is likely to be bug 196207.
