The Kate text editor has a terrific VI-bindings mode. It would be great if this could be added to Kword. Thanks!

Any 3rd party can do this by writing their own text-tool (see techbase.kde.org for a tutorial on how to do this).
This is not something the core koffice people will work on, though. Sorry.
