Kopete chat window ignores kde wide colours scheme set by system settings -> appearances -> colours.

quick example Obisidian theme shows the problem.

Did you try playing with options "Settings" -> "Chat window" -> "Colors & Fonts"? Especially "Do not show user specified background color/foreground color/rich text" options.

indeed igor in principle you can work around these colours issues... but you need to invest some time in them... as kopete still is an official im application should honour the desktop theme.

a rewriting process for a new client is on the way kde-telepathy... you may want to join the team as they want to keep all the cool features of kopete.

Actually, I think that font/background color should be set in kopete theme and not in systemsettings, and by default it should use it. But it's only my opinion, I don't know what should be the proper solution.

And I know about kde-telepathy project, it's pretty promising..
