Description Martin L ü c h e m 2009-12-21 21:27:11 UTC
Version: Unbekannt (using 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.30-2-amd64

May be a migration problem. Iam coming from KDE 3.5. In KDE 4 some icons are lost and changes do not take effect and even the menue for changing icons is damaged.

I will add some screenshots.

(Sorry for double attachement but this seems to be another bug. Konqueror seemed to sleep...)

- Can you check if this also happens with a new user account (just to test with a clean environment) ?
Thanks
Comment 10 Martin L ü c h e m 2009-12-22 14:23:23 UTC
Just tested: Different User, that was not "productive" before -> Update from KDE 3.5 (I did that by chance, does this have any influence?) -> uses the same style

=> partly better but still not correct!

Shall I test again with completely new user? Same style or a diffferent one?

Martin

Try with a completely new user account (to start with a clean configuration). Thanks!

No difference, still a lot of icons vanished!

Do you need more details? Martin

- Have you tried to reinstall the "oxygen-icon-theme" package ? Thanks
Comment 14 Martin L ü c h e m 2009-12-25 14:25:05 UTC
Well I used Noia KDE! this is what I have had before I made the upgrade. If I switch to Oxygen everthing seems to be ok.

What does that mean?

Martin
Comment 15 Dario Andres 2009-12-25 14:34:47 UTC
The Noia icon theme is probably designed to use with KDE SC 3, which had a different icon naming scheme. So, when using it on KDE SC 4, it doesn't find all the icons and shows the "unknown" ones.
This needs to be "fixed" in the Noia icon theme directly (if the author wants to use this theme with KDE SC 4)
We can't do anything as we don't have relation with that icon theme.
