Description Parameshwara Bhat 2009-12-20 16:54:11 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) "release 6", openSUSE 11.2)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop

The login splash screen shakes a few times while loading. The loading is not smooth.

I had seen this from the beginning in KDE4,but hoped it would get smoother with development. But after three releases,it still shakes and that is not a nice sight.

What does it mean exactly, 'shakes'?
Comment 2 Lubos Lunak 2010-06-21 13:42:36 UTC
Hmm, NEEDINFO is a bit broken it seems.
Comment 3 Parameshwara Bhat 2010-06-21 16:10:07 UTC
Shakes means shakes. The screen shakes and contorts for a second and then is restored. It repeats a few times.
Comment 4 Lubos Lunak 2010-06-21 19:10:21 UTC
Thanks for repeating the obvious.

I assume this is kephal polling the device causing this.

Perhaps I should have used the word flickers! English is only second language for me.

Then I do not see this flickering when Opensuse runs under VirtualBox. Also, I do not see on all systems.May be this is specific to this X driver.I have an intel graphic chipset. My video driver seems to be i915.
