I have a jailbroken iPod Touch with 2.x firmware. I have fixed the version of the song database to enable syncing with libgpod. I can sync successfully with Amarok 1.4.x and with gtkpod.

The iPod does not appear in Amarok. This might be a KDE issue rather than Amarok-specific, since KDE gives no indication that the iPod is attached either. For anyone who hasn't synced an iPod Touch/iPhone before: the USB connection is encrypted differently than other iPods, so it is not automatically mounted/recognized in KDE when you plug in the USB cable. Instead the "standard" way to mount it is using sshfs over wifi.

When I mount it that way, using the ipod-convenience scripts from the Ubuntu repos, gtkpod has no problem finding it (and Amarok 1.4.x just needs me to create a new media device entry and point it to the right mount point). However, there seems to be no way in Amarok 2.x to specify a device manually or direct it to a particular mount point.

Although it'd be nice to have Amarok pick up the device automatically, I'd gladly settle for a workaround such as sending a DCOP call that would trick Amarok or KDE into thinking a device was just plugged in with a specific mount point.
