Description kdebugs 2009-12-19 23:54:11 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

When receiving a http 403 forbidden error when fetching a feed,
akregator seems to retry fetching that feed after 60 seconds.
(empirical from wireshark)

Since a 403 is not likely to go away soon, maybe this time should
be set higher (at least to the time interval for refetch set in the
feed preferences).

Wow. OK. Software like this needs to die a horrible death.

It doesnt know how to behave and the developers PLAINLY REFUSE to make it behaving when being asked.

I guess a fail2ban rule to block out akregator will do for now. Or maybe an alternate view to the RSS Feed for UA aKregator which simply tells the user to use a different software.

If i was minded like the developers, i'd probably even choose to 302 the Feed to some KDE Webserver.

seriously pissed,
