Try running the command "MALLOC_CHECK_= amarok" from Konsole. If Amarok starts properly, then this is the glibc bug 196207 Else, it is a duplicate of bug 207579 My bad, I didn't explain it correctly. Please type the following three commands in a konsole, in that order: export QT_NO_GLIB=1 export MALLOC_CHECK_= amarok -d --nofork Quote from private mail:
> After typing those 3 commands, Amarok started properly.
Which is a clear confirmation for this bug being related to glibc. Ubuntu should soon ship an updated version of that package.
