Description Serge Ratke 2009-12-19 12:00:25 UTC
Version: 2.2.1.90 (using KDE 4.3.4)
Compiler: gcc (Gentoo 4.4.2 p1.0) 4.4.2 CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=core2 -mtune=core2" CXXFLAGS=${CFLAGS} LDFLAGS="-Wl,--as-needed"
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

whenever i try to save the current playlist i get some random entries in the saved playlist -- which may or may not be in the current playlist. the amount of saved entries is a fracture of the actual playlist. this behaviour is also present on every startup of amarok. the playlist i had before exiting amarok is restored in the same manner as the saving of the playlist.

Bart, any change to get this fixed before 2.2.2 final?
Comment 2 Bart Cerneels 2009-12-20 12:01:50 UTC
What are the Collections the tracks in the playlist come from?

I've just tried with 3 tracks from the local collection, DAAP collection and a local file. Only the first and last one were saved, not the one from DAAP.

my collection comes from an external usb hdd which is connected with fritzbox and mounted as a cifs device.
Comment 4 Bart Cerneels 2009-12-22 12:11:53 UTC
Just to check: your cifs share is mounted (linux kernel, mount, fstab, etc you catch my drift) and amarok is configured to scan the mountpoint? i.e. are those tracks that do not appear are from the local (Sql)Collection.

I've already discovered that DAAP tracks are not restored from a playlist, but there should be no such issue for SQL or filebrowser tracks. In short: we are a bit puzzled.

the cifs share is mounted, and amarok is configured to scan the mountpoint. in fact all files on this share are scaned and in the amarok collection.

I can't confirm this. In a few days 2.2.2 is going to be release. Do a proper reinstall, if possible with an empty database (mv $KDEHOME/share/apps/amarok/mysqle mysqle-backup).

I'm guessing something is wrong with your setup.

installed 2.2.2, and it seems to be fixed now. dynamic playlist started to work again as well. *two thumbs up*
