Description Panagiotis Papadopoulos 2009-12-16 17:30:41 UTC
Version: (using Devel)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Compiled sources

Currently (KDE 4.4 Beta 1) the "estimated time left" information in the Job notifications (e.g. when copying files) is showing really stupid values from a user point of view (unless he is a mathematician :-P):

Some examples:

25,78 seconds remaining
512 Milliseconds remaining

I think you can get my point:
How much is 25,78 seconds? Wouldn't it be better to simply round it to 26 seconds?
I think I don't have to say anything about the Milliseconds thing, do I?

(btw: in 4.3 it was fine, I don't know why this was changed)
Thanks :-)

The text was changed because the old form was too long (like "1 hour, 20 minutes and 30 seconds") and that caused some other texts to be chopped (bug 199346, bug 210081). I agree that this is not the expected, and should probably be fixed at the kdelibs level...

As far as I can tell, this has been fixed in 4.4.0
