There is on way to use properly the System Settings Application w/o mouse. This is real usability downgrade since KDE 3.5. Too many unneeded features implemented but general functionality doesn`t work. I think this is very important to make KDE 4 more usable for keyboard users.

1) There is no standard menu. How I can active toolbar features (like Configure)?
2) I can navigate to Quick Search control only by Tab key (press it until I get it). There is simple way to add label with accelerator or activate it just by start typing.
3) How I can navigate when Quick Search contain some filter. Tab stops on first active item if the next item is grayed (disabled). Why filter doesn`t hide filtered items?
4) In classic view filter doesn`t affect right view.

and this list may be expanded up to 10 items by any user with the unplugged mouse.

It`s time to make KDE 4 pretty...

System Settings does not use a standard menu bar, primarily since it would be completely empty, and this a waste of vertical space.

You can use Ctrl + F to bring focus to the Search Line Edit. I will add a tooltip for this in 4.5, since the string freeze is now in effect.

I have added a shortcut to current trunk, Ctrl + M which will bring up the Configure dialog.

For the classic view, this is due to it not supporting the disabled state.
