Version: 1.12.3 (using KDE 4.3.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

I have a fine tuned folder structure in my IMAP account.

Synchronizing with my account therefore takes a long time. But if there were two options one in account setup and one in synchronize command that would be most effectively tackled.

1) Have an option in the "Disconnected IMAP Account" settings that specifies "Synchronize only Inbox"

2) Split the "Manual Synchronize Command" as "Synchronize" & "Synchronize Whole Account". Clicking first would only sync the inbox where as the latter would sync all the folders.

With this in had we can avoid extra bandwidth (therefore money) usage especially when hooked to a mobile network (wallet drain :( )
