Sentry Crash Report:

Description S. Burmeister 2009-12-12 10:30:08 UTC
Version: 1.0.0 (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

If I attach my camera via USB 2.0 and open it in digikam the camera GUI stays empty, i.e. no pictures are shown. If I use iotop I see that digikam reads 5 MB/s for a few minutes before it starts to display any pictures.

I think it would be better if the images that were already read would be shown instantly otherwise the user might get the impression that digikam hangs.

There is not a progress-bar either, just a small block moving from left to right which does not give any feedback as to what is going on or how long it is going to take.

This is a dupplicate. There is already an entry in bugzilla about this subject...

In 2.1.0, thumbnails are loaded on the fly. Connection to camera is very fast now.
