Example:
1. Open an archive (I've tested on zip and bzip2)
2. select several siles using ctrl-click
3. drag & drop them to dolphin window.

The effect is that only first file is extracted and a new dolphin window which show home directory is opened. 

Expected:
All files should be extracted. No new dolphin window should be shown.

The main bug you mention (selection being undone) is bug 187152. The other (Dolphin being launched after extraction) is bug 188857.
