Description Tristan Miller 2009-12-09 12:59:44 UTC
Version: 1.12.2 (using KDE 4.3.4)
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

I seem to recall that previous versions of KMail would remember which message was last viewed in every folder, so that when a folder is revisited the last message is automatically selected in the message list. However, this has stopped working.

Reproducibility: Always

Steps to reproduce:
1. Click on a folder in the folder list.
2. Click on a message in the message list -- preferably one buried somewhere in the middle, or way down at the bottom.
3. Click on another folder in the folder list.
4. Click back on the first folder in the folder list.

Observed results:
5. The message list is displayed from the top. No message is highlighted in the message list, and no message appears in the preview pane.

Expected results:
5. The message list should scroll to the position of the most recently viewed message for that folder. The most recently viewed message should be selected and displayed in the preview pane.

Seems to be fixed in KMail 1.13.0 (KDE 4.4.0).
