Description usrrgt 2009-12-07 10:31:39 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

External USB disk in ext3.

Dolphin/Konqueror shows the new files correctly, but I have some old files in this hard disk that I have write with an old Linux distribution. This files are showing by Dolphin/Konqueror by character when they have in their name non standard characters and can't do anything with this files (can't run it, can't delete it and can't rename it).

When I renaming a file with this problem, Dolphin/Konqueror says: "Can't rename file_name because file_name doesn't exist".

I tried with Thunar (the Xfce file manager) and it shows these files correctly and, of course, I can work with this files.

I will not comment on why bug 165044 is marked as WONTFIX, please read the discussion there, it includes comments for feature requests that could solve the issue.
