Compiler:          gcc

I click the pause button, and it restarts the current song automatically.
Does not stay paused as one would expect.

Make sure you use the phonon xine backend, this is a known gstreamer backend bug.

Even in version 2.3.0 in KDE 4.4.1, the bug is remains. Please post the gstreamer bug link, so that I can follow the upstream bug.

Also, I lost my history of previously played tracks after this problem. So, I don't think this is entirely a problem with gstreamer. Ergo, I believe the bug should be reopened.
