Description David Eriksson 2009-12-03 14:16:01 UTC
Version: unknown (using 4.3.3 (KDE 4.3.3), compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc.exe
OS: Microsoft Windows (i686) release 5.1 (XP Professional)

When I start System Settings I always get this error:
System Settings was unable to find any views, and hence has nothing to display.
It worked before with KDE 4.2.3.

I have the same problem with KDE 4.3.4. Is there a package I need to install to get the System Settings views? As it is now I can't change any global KDE settings.

I just completed installing KDE-4.3.4 on Windows XP Home Edition SP3 using the GUI installer over network. This error popped up when the System Settings window opened at the end of installation, and it pops up every time I open System Settings even after rebooting twice.

I also have Cygwin/X installed on this machine, is it possible there is a library conflict?

(In reply to comment #2)
Severity should be raised to Major ... KDE is completely unusable.
Comment 4 David Eriksson 2010-02-19 09:29:52 UTC
I have now updated to KDE 4.4.0 and now the error is gone. System Settings is now working and several views are visible. I am using the installer and mingw4.

For me the bug is resolved.

I just upgraded to KDE-Windows 4.4.0 and I am still getting "No views found" error message. This bug is not fixed.
