Description Colin Pendred 2009-12-01 21:55:23 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

Using Amarok to organise files (right clicking on the collection and selecting Organise files is corrupting my mp3 collection. The following occurs:
*All tags for the mp3s are removed
*The file extensions are deleted (i.e. *.mp3 or *.m4a)

As a result, the mp3s are no longer listed within Amarok. The files still physically exist and are still playable, however, but loosing the tags is a major loss of data, especially for a large collection.

This is not always observable the first time, but repeated use of organise files will do it.

We know about the usability problems, and that is the reason we did remove the Organize FIles dialog in Amarok 2.2.

Please upgrade, your version is pretty much outdated, Amarok 2.2.1 is available since quite some time.

FWIW, when you organize files, you should have a close look at what is changed, the dialog shows you exactly what is going to happen. Amarok only does what you tell it to do.
