Description roland 2009-11-30 18:08:34 UTC
Version: 4.3.2 (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

This is a feature request, but one which has been sorely needed since the package was introduced. I realize the powers that be are dead set on some kind of "sync" software using a server, but to date, that path has born no usable fruit. I just spent 3 hours today trying to get a new install on my laptop to sync KDEPIM with desktop. I gave up.

Why cannot we not have a complete backup utility like Evolution has. It could back all of its data up into some format it understands. We can then copy this one file over to the other device and do a "restore from backup"?

I really don't want to go through the pain of converting to Evolution. There is no clean migration tool and Evolution has let me down many times before. The kdepim is much more natural in its current version so I would like to find a good method of sticking with it and transferring things to my laptop for business travel.
