What I was doing when the application crashed:
cannot start kdevelop
happens everytime
re-install kedevelop did not help

do you have the updated libc package installed with the fix for the MALLOC_CHECK_ stuff? see bug 206775 and http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=10282

As Millian said, the bug is in libc2.10
