Version: (using KDE 4.3.3)
Installed from: Archlinux Packages

Hi,

When i'm in my home folder and want to go to my web folder (/srv) i click in the location bar to edit it. That works fine. Then i go to the path i want which works fine as well. But when i click outside of my location bar (for example on a file) the location bar is not changing back to the button mode.. instead i have to click on the tick icon to the right of the location bar.

It's not a bug really but it would be handy if the location bar switches back to the button mode when i click somewhere outside the location bar..

Thanx,
Mark.

Thanks for the input. BTW: if you press Ctrl+Enter after editing the URL instead of only Enter a switch to the button mode is done.

@ #1

Can't the ctrl+enter behavior be the enter behavior and the current enter behavior the ctrl+enter one?

That would be more intuitive.. at least for me.
How does mac do this in finder? (sorry, i don't have a mac so can't test it)

Ahh, my own report from a few years ago :)

Oke, i have new info for this one now.
Windows defaults to switch back to the breadcrumbs when you press enter or if the bar loses focus.
Mac Finder doesn't seem to have a location bar (anymore). It does have a path bar but that one doesn't allow you to type anything. You can only see the path.

My suggestion is still like i asked a couple years ago. Default to switching back to breadcrumb mode as soon as you press enter or if the bar loses focus. If you don't agree on the default then please just close this bug.

My problem with closing this bug is that I personally also agree to your suggestion. But as I'm not doing Dolphin just for myself and the number of duplicates/votes of this bug are not very high, I'm closing this bug now as WONTFIX with a small tear in my eye ;-)
