Description chris 2009-11-14 19:45:13 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.3)

It would be cool if kopete would have simple text-box (as pidgin does) where you can type very easy your current status message without clicking to much around. One field for status tile and message would be enough - the value could be used as both: title and message. And if you click in the icon to change your status from e.g. "online" to "away" this text-box should be focused so you can directly set a news status. (but it's value should never be overwritten by the status' default message is it does in the current version - this makes you crazy if you e.g. set a link to a youtube video for your friends as status. You don't want type it again because you just changed from "away" to "online".) Even a history of status messages would be nice - so that you can directly select by one click one of the last ten statuses you used ;-)
You see, I'm really in love with status messages but it's not as easy as I think it could be to set them in kopete.

PS: one little other thing I noticed: some IM clients don't use status message and status title correctly. Some use just the message and some just the title. Would it be possible to implement a field in the contact list which displays both: the status title and the status message in one field - if one field is empty, the other field may contain some information and should be displayed there.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
