Please try with digiKam 1.0.0-beta6 Gilles Caulier Do you copy the new images with KDE applications, e.g. dolphin? If you copy e.g. from the command line, notification is notoriously unreliable. In doubt press F5 to refresh (I'm speaking of 1.0-rc1 here, 0.10.0 can't do that and can probably as well fail when copying with KDE tools) If I start digiKam, switch to folder A with some pictures inside and copy some more pictures with Nautilus to folder A the added pictures are displayed in digiKam. If I start digiKam, create a new album called folder-B inside digiKam, stay with digiKam in that folder and copy some pictures with Nautilus to folder-A the added pictures are not displayed in digiKam. If I switch to folder-B and switch back to folder-A with digiKam, the new pictures are still not displayed. Also F5 (refresh) does not help If I restart digiKam, digiKam starts up in the folder that was open when I exited digiKam, but this time the pictures are displayed. I use version 0.10.0 Expect dysfunctions in this area with 0.10. With 1.0, at least F5 will always work. For automatic detection outside KDE (including Nautilus) we depend on system services which are unreliable on Linux. Closing because 1.0 is the release following 0.10, there will be no fixes for 0.10. I can confirm that it works in 1.0. New pictures in folder are detected automatically. Thanks! |
