Are you running another mail program at the same time? That's not=20 possible. Also see the FAQ at kmail.kde.org for lockfile problems. regards Daniel --=20 Daniel Naber Paul-Gerhardt-Str. 2 33332 Guetersloh Germany Tel. 05241-59371 Mobil 0170-4819674 Hello Daniel all is good now i use KMail and enjoy it. The mistake was that i tried kmail betas a long long time ago and created many filters to sort my mails. I deleted all the KMail config files for my account and recreated them. All works fine now KMail is great !!!! By the way have you ever thought of of filter that would allow to give the attachments to a bash script (but would keep the attachment in the mail). It would be very powerfull to my needs (and for some other users i hope too). Nevertheless all the kmail/kde team are great coders. Thanks. This feature is already in place. Have a look into the documentation for th=

details.

"Filter app" or "execute" does that see documentation.

You'r right michael i hadn't understood the execute or filter app actions could be used for that. Thanks. Another wish that might have been asked : could you add : 1- a choice of columns headers in a list (status subject date attachment size etc... i find this is more intuitive in Netscape - really sorry to say that :) - ) . I would like to see which mail has an attachment and wich hasn't .. 2- When you reply to a mail it would be nice to give the default focus to the body field instead of the TO field Thanks for your answers and your code. I also noticed a problem that is perhaps connected to this one in some way. I have my inbox folder sorted by dates. However two messages I got on saturday were sorted around september 2000 so I didn't find them first. They also both had unknown sender and subject but I could nevertheless read them. However today they are for some reason sorted correctly and with a real subject. > As soon as the first message becomes unknown all the following i wanna see > become unknwown too. And this bug is persistent : closing and re-opening > KMail doesn't solve it. I didn't notice this. Bastian This probram persists with KMail compiled from CVS Head on 03/10/2003. Please reopen this bug. This problem is NOT FIXED!!! Damn I can read my mail on webmail but kmail shows me this unknown shit. I'm already pissed off. Deleted all configuration and made new accounts, still after disconnected IMAP syncronisation shows me Unknown subject, unknown sender, unknown date.... Kmail 1.9.1 FreeBSD 6.1 Same problem. Some of my emails read. Some don't. Once this thing starts changing the header to read 'unknown' 'unknown' etc. it doesn't quit. I have the latest stuff. If I restart some of them are restored and some aren't. Still when I click on them it turns them back to unknown. Please fix this. By the way.. are those e-mails being destroyed? Same problem here! I am also using disconnected imap and for sure no other app is accessing my kmail cache! (imap may be accessed at the same time, but will deny access to second client). The messages are synchronized to the imap, so my messages are detroyed and cannot be recovered after turning "unknown". |
