Sentry Crash Report:

Description David Benjamin 2009-11-07 21:14:20 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

GTK+ uses dnd-ask and dnd-move for drag-and-drop cursors (Qt appears to hard-code bitmaps. I'm tempted to make a patch for this). fd.o doesn't specify these, but it would be nice for Oxygen cursors to support the cursors commonly used on the Linux desktop. Also, a move cursor is already provided. One could use it for dnd-move.

(Is there any reason why the existing dnd-* cursors use a pointer while dnd-none uses a closed hand?)

On that note, I would also suggest creating the proper cursor for the copy operation as oxygen-cursor-theme / -extra packages do not provide such a cursor and revert to kde3 classic cross/pointer to perform it.

It applies to any form of drag and drop operation that involves copy or move as stated previously... try it for yourselves - I find it breaks the uniformity of such a polished desktop system :(

thanks for reading

Hello David, now that Breeze is the new Plasma default, is your report still valid today?

A lot of time has passed since this was reported, so please provide an update on this issue with oxygen cursors if you're still using them.
