Mh, it looks like a Qt issue, unrelated to Plasma or plasma-netbook. @Marco: what do you think ? Thanks *** Bug 213571 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to comment #2) *** Bug 213571 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I installed the -dbg package for plasma-netbook, the same crash happened I report the full crash info in bug 213571. @lixo1: according to the backtraces (crash information) the bug is different. Did you got the same crash when repeating the same steps ? Thanks > Did you got the same crash when repeating the same steps ?
No, unfortunately, for the moment I don't see any rule to reproduce it.
The only common point between this 3 crashes is that no application was activated, only the kubuntu default process.
If you need more tests I can do.
could be a qt bug but is hard to tell without more crash information, try with http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports Hi Marco, thanks to the support. I already installed dbg packages for plasma, I report my lastest crashes with Bug 213571, and 214369. Is there some more dbg package that you recoment to get this bug? for sure debug of kdelibs, qt and kdebase* You need to install: "libqt4-dbg", "kdelibs5-dbg" and "kdebase-workspace-dbg". Regards Hello, openSuSE 11.2 guy again. I am running a Desktop PC and NOT a laptop. At PowerOn Boot-Up I received a "Plasma Netbook closed unexpectedly" dialog as my Desktop came into focus. I have the above libs loaded, sorta. Mine are: libqt4-debuginfo, kdelibs4-debuginfo and kdebase4-workspace-debuginfo The crash assistant still claimed there was not enough info for a valid report. I would like to help. What else can I load to get the proper info?? No, I do not get this every time -but- often enough that I could produce a report IF I knew what other libs to load. I have: 4.3.85 (KDE 4.3.85 (KDE 4.4 Beta2)) "release 203" Loaded on my system. I was tempted to copy and paste the Back Trace, even though Crash Assistant said it did not contain enough info, but did not want to flood you with useless information. However, IF you would like it, let me know and I will include it. *** Bug 223590 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** lixo1 has not replied. Closing as WORKSFORME. Please open a new bug report if this happens again. @Chuck Taylor: in that cases you may want to ask to the OpenSuse or KDE forums or IRC channels about what other libraries you need to install....
