In the russian comunity it is well diffused the "mail.ru agent" as IM program.
The protocol specifications are described here:

There is already an implementation of it for Miranda IM but no sourcecode at the following address:

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
