Description doc.evans 2009-11-02 23:14:56 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I use the picture frame plasmoid in slideshow mode, pointing at a single directory.

Even though all the files in the directory appear to be valid JPGs, the plasmoid quite frequently says that it is unable to display a file. Unfortunately it neither gives a reason why it cannot display the image nor does it say which file is causing the problem. This makes it essentially impossible to figure out which image is at fault.

Consequently, I'm requesting that either:
1) there be an option that causes the filename to be displayed unobtrusively on the plasmoid; or
2) when an image cannot be displayed properly, the name of the file that is at fault be clearly displayed.

Hello!

This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
