Version: 1.11.2 (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.28-16-generic

I am using Kmail with IMAP set up. I am using GMX.com for emails. When a new email comes I see two copies of the same email in the Inbox. But I do not see two copies in the webmail. Here is the steps I followed.

a) send a email to my email address from another account.
b) I see one copy of the email in my GMX account.(webmail)
c) I start Kmail (there are no filter working defined on this email)
d) There are two copies of the new email. But others are fine.
e) I now see two copies of that email on the webmail also.

I too have noticed this strange behavior.
I have two mail clients I use. Thunderbird at work, and kmail at home.
All mails received and read at work, will be duplicated when I open up kmail at home.
The duplication seem to happen in connection with the filtering, since all filters will work before the mails are duplicated.
The duplication does not happen on newly received mails.
The duplication does not happen on mails that are matched by a filter - these mails are correctly filtered (moved) as they should.

I use kmail v1.12.4 in kde 4.3.4 running on Gentoo.
