Old habits die hard and most of us find ourselves double-clicking on files from time to time. If KDE is configured (as it is by default) to open with a single click then this can cause dolphin (and other?) to open the same file twice. Not only is this annoying it is potentially confusing and slows down file opening.

When configured for single click, double click on a file is not meaningful in any way. It has no other default binding. For this reason I suggest that by default, applications like dolphin should simply treat a double click on a file as a single click. Think of it as ignoring the second click or "de-bouncing" if you like - whatever helps. But please lets do it...

Not able to reproduce this with recent versions of Dolphin.
