Actually this can be quite handy to open a new window so that you can do side-by-side comparison. What do you think? Even with Gwenview comparison mode, I use this from time to time, so I am going to keep it. This came up again recently in https://phabricator.kde.org/D11541#230583. Perhaps Gwenview could be removed from Open With in case we add something like View → New Window as found in Kate (not sure yet about naming and menu location). +1 for a dedicated "Open in New Window" menu item. That would make the feature more clear and bring it in line with most other apps that use an "Open in New Window" UI for this. The way I see it, everything mentioned here has been implemented. - Gwenview does not advertise itself in "Open With" anymore. - A new "Open in New Window" option was added right beneath. |
