Description Parameshwara Bhat 2009-10-23 16:45:39 UTC
Version: 1.12.2 (using 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) "release 178", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.1)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27.29-0.1-default

In the present settings interface and mail send-receive interfaces, there seems to be a tenuous weak link between identity and accounts. But the Receive and Send accounts feel to be unrelated. I do not know any situation where receive and send accounts need to be different.

In opera, each account has a send and receive server and send-receive preferences. That organizes multiple mail accounts more neatly than kmail does presently.

The purpose and role of identity now is also not very clear.

It would be nice and better organized if accounts are organized around identities. Each identity will have it's own receive and send configuration. And it's own folders inherited from a skeleton.

All these folders can be virtual folders and filters to mails in a set of central common folders which need not be shown in the folders list.

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
