Version:           0.8.2 (using 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2), Kubuntu packages)

The attached images show the problem. One image shows the window open before I click Okular on the task bar to bring it to the front. Sometimes there is garbage and it is using some other part of the screen in the misrendered area. Sometimes it is just the underlying bit of screen. This has been the case for me since I first installed Kubuntu - 8.04 in 04/2008 and continued in 8.10 and 9.04. It also occurs in Ubuntu where I use several KDE apps.

I should have also said that it happens after having been displayed properly, minimizing, and restoring - not every time, maybe 30% of the time. Subsequent minimizing, and maximizing doesn't help. The bad bit needs to be scrolled out of view and back again to rerender that part of the document.

Which graphic card and driver are you using? Which window manager do you use? Are you using 3d effects on it?

Hi. I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 with a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. I don't know if there are any 3d effects enabled. The only 3d thing I've ever run is glxgears to test the frame rate when I've tried different drivers. Right now I have whatever driver it is that comes with bog standard Ubuntu 9.04, with as much of KDE installed to run KTorrent, Okular, and maybe a few other things.

I'm sorry to tell you that Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 has known problems with it's graphic drivers and they are most likely the cause of image corruption you are suffering. I suggest you to approach the linux intel graphics developers and explain them the issues you are having. Nothing more we can fix at the okular level, i'm afraid

It is strange that Okular is the only application in Ubuntu and Kubuntu with the problem.

Well, you just reported a similar problem to kate as far as i know, and Okular does some extensive usage of pixmaps which other applications don't so it's easier for it to find problems in the graphic card drivers.
