Status: RESOLVED FIXED
Severity: normal CC: fedora, travisgevans, winter
Priority: NOR

Target Milestone: ---
Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Latest Commit: Version Fixed In: 4.9.1

Description Alexander Wigen 2009-10-14 07:44:57 UTC
Version: 3.9 (using 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2), Gentoo)
Compiler: i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.31-gentoo-r2

Steps to reproduce:

Right click on the note title bar, select "Preferences", select "Editor", un-select "Rich text", set "Text Font" to something different (I tried "Nimbus Mono"). Click "OK".

The font doesn't change to the mono-spaced font. I was only able to change fonts when "Rich text" was enabled using the rich text toolbar.

I can confirm this for Fedora 16 running KDE 4.8.0/KNotes 4.8.0.

There definitely is something fishy going on. :) I can get the font to change but only if I follow an exact procedure:

1. Check "Rich text".
2. Change font.
3. Click "Apply" (nothing seems to be happening)
4. Uncheck "Rich text"
3. Click "Apply" again (font changes for me)

This can be reproduced over and over again.

Confirmed KDE 4.8.0 on Arch. Rich text off, neither the individual notes' font preferences nor the global ones for new notes seem to take effect. Sometimes they do for new notes, but then they eventually revert to an arbitrary font choice, especially when deleting all of the text in a note and then typing new text.

Fixed today in commit 88374381882ac522ce52dcf3dcaa0c45d016d3f2 by Sergey Borovkov to branch KDE/4.9.
